As your organization grows, your mindset has to change. – Craig Groeschel
Today’s podcast is a great way to end your week. Amanda and I talk all about “the new normal” as it relates to organizational structure and the workplace. With 10,000 Baby Boomers retiring every day and the Millennial generation entering the workforce, the way we do work is inevitably going to change. A traditional top-down organizational chart just isn’t going to cut it anymore. Old school job descriptions are becoming a thing of the past. Today we’re breaking down some of the strategies we’ve implemented at Southwest Michigan First to adjust to this ever-changing landscape.
Some of the strategies you’ll hear about include:
- Ceo of your own responsibilities
- Flat structure, working in concentric circles
- Titles mean very little internally
- No formal HR director
- Choosing to Cheat philosophy
I truly believe that all leaders listening today can take away some of these insights and implement them into what you’re doing in the community – no matter what position you’re leading from.
Question: How is your workplace changing to accommodate the new normal?
