Nearly half of your day will be determined by the patterns you’ve either intentionally created or passively allowed. – Brad Lomenick
Healthy people produce healthy results, so no matter what sector of the community you work in – wellness matters! And for us, wellness is holistic. It goes far beyond a gym membership. We focus on the 5 “Fs” – Fitness, Faith, Food, Family and Finance. These all have an impact on our success as individuals, but also on our success as an organization overall.
The way in which we primarily execute our wellness strategy is through a wellness committee comprised of a few team members who gather together regularly to come up with creative ways to keep our team healthy! This isn’t just about my leadership as the point person, but about bringing together diverse ideas and opinions to meet the needs of our diverse team.
Here’s a few things we do as a team:
- Healthy cook-off competitions
- Annual kickball game
- Regular financial health trainings from experts
- Entry level yoga
- Individual nutrition coaching
- Work out during the work day
If you aren’t executing a wellness strategy currently, today is the day to begin. I encourage you to take a listen to this podcast and see if any of these strategies might work for you.
We’ll pick up the conversation again in a week or so and share part two of why wellness matters.
Question: What wellness strategies are you executing at your organization? What kind of impact have you seen as a result?
